Despite the wonderful intentions, sorry to say, I was quite disappointed when I saw the remake. And those funny folks at SNL apparently were too.

Gym Jam Vol. II: Eat Pie. Drink Egg Nog.

November 25th, 2008

So this, the second installment of the HeyGirlMommaGo Gym Jam series, is waiting for you on Itunes. I created it out of my love for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. During the next several weeks I plan to enjoy myself and eat my fair share of turkey, pumpkin pie, oh and heck, even a little egg nog!

So here goes. A new mix that I will break in on Thanksgiving morning. Before the parade starts on TV of course.

So my lovely Hey Girls & Gals, crank it, own it, and I swear you won’t “sweat” the holidays so much!!

HeyGirlMommaGo Gym Jam Volume II

  1. Rockstar, Nickelback. I’m soooo glad I’m not famous. This song reminds me why.
  2. Decode, Paramore. I just saw the “Twlight” movie with some gals and OMG, we loved it (but loved the book more!). This is from the soundtrack.
  3. Love Lockdown, Kanye West. Not a particularly modest guy, but he has some seriously fantastic songs.
  4. The Message, Mike Peters (of The Alarm). Remember this old-school rap song? Mike Peters puts a fantastic twist on it. I’ve loved this version for years.
  5. Single Ladies, Beyonce…or Sasha Fierce. Do yourself a favor and watch the spoof of her new video on “Saturday Night Live” with Justin Timberlake as a back-up dancer.
  6. Keeps Gettin’ Better, Christina Aguliera. This is a bit sassier than “Genie in a Bottle”.
  7. Womanizer, Britney Spears. I want this girl to be back on top of the charts. You go Britney!
  8. Hit Me Up, Gia Farrell. This is from the “Happy Feet” soundtrack. I DARE you to try not to dance.
  9. Stronger, Kanye West. Another Kanye tune to fire up the workout.
  10. Hold On, Jonas Brothers. Yes, I realize I’m old enough to be their mother but I needed to balance out the hip hop with this feel-good tune.
  11. Move Shake Drop Remix, DJ Laz. Discovered this song in a class at the gym. The instructor, Raphael, would be so proud.
  12. Feeling Good, George Michael. To this day, I remain, a devoted fan. A great song to start the cool down.
  13. Just a Dream, Carrie Underwood. End it with an American Idol.
